Indonesia Red Crescent (BSMI) held a meeting of Central Board of dihelat BSMI headquarters on Jl. Jend. 19 Cililitan Jakarta, Tuesday (2 / 3). BSMI pekanan meeting was attended by the Chairman of dr. Basuki Supartono, SpOT, FICS, MARS, Head of Yankes dr. Prita Kusumaningsih, SpOG, Chairman of the Inter-Agency Relations dr. Fuadi Yatim and General Secretary M. DJAZULI Ambari, SKM, M. Si, and attended by the staff and volunteers BSMI.

Government Always Support BSMI

Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) held the first national congress on 5 to 7 February 2010 in Jakarta. The congress was opened by Coordinating Public Welfare Minister, Agung Laksono, in Bina Karna Auditorium, Bumi Karsa Hotel, Jakarta (5/2). Social Service Minister, Salim Segaf Al Jufrie, who is also BSMI adviser gave a speech on that occasion.

The congress was attended by all BSMI branches and volunteers form archipelago. It was also attended by BSMI chairman, dr. Basuki Supartono, SpOT, FICS, MARS.

BSMI Chairman Met PMI Chairman

Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) central board met Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) board in PMI head office on Jl. Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta (4/2) Thursday. The central board which is lead by BSMI chairman dr. Basuki Supartono, SpOT, FICS, MARS was welcomed by PMI chairman Jusuf Kalla (JK). The meeting purpose was to discuss about humanitarian aids agenda.

It was the second time for BSMI to meet JK. The first meeting was in April 2009 when JK was a vice president of Republic of Indonesia.

BSMI Hold National Congress

Since the existence of Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) have been developing during the recent eight years, BSMI will hold national congress on 5 to 7 February.

"The national congress will be a an event to consolidate among BSMI center board, branches, and volunteers who have participated in several national and international disasters, such as in Aceh, Padang, West Java, and Palestine," said Pardian Sulaiman, BSMI public relation.

The magnitude 7.0 earthquake disaster which shook Haiti, a country in Carribian Islands, caused more than 100,000 victims and damages. Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) as a humanitarian organization opens recruitment for Haiti quake volunteers.

Coordinating Public Welfare Minister Support BSMI Scholarship for Palestine

Cental board of Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) met Coordinating Public Welfare Minister, Agung Laksono, at Jl. Merdeka Barat No.3 Jakarta on Monday (11/1). The BSMI central board which is led by dr. Basuki Supartono, SpOT, FICS, MARS were welcomed by Agung Laksono. They met to discuss about BSMI activities.

According to BSMI chairman, dr. Basuki Supartono, BSMI were very grateful to Coordinating Public Welfare Minister, because he supported BSMI scholarship program for Palestinian doctors which had been delayed.

1st National Conference of Indonesian Red Crescent Association

As a humanitarian organization which activities had taken places in all provinces in Indonesia, Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) always struggles to socialize red crescent symbol. Based on this spirit, BSMI will consolidate with all branches, members and volunteers in the National Conference on 29 to 31 January 2010. It will be a declaration of BSMI association's establishment.

500 members and volunteers from all provinces in Indonesia will be gather in the conference. "The 1st National Conference will be held in Jakarta and Bandung," said M. Rudi, committee of BSMI 1st National Conference.
